Artist Statement
I explore the body as a site of accumulation, where memory, lived experience, nature, and cultural conditioning continuously shape one another. Working primarily through painting, I trace how experiences leave traces within the body, surfacing, dissolving, and reconfiguring through gesture, form, and layers of the painted surface.
The body becomes a space where personal experience meets inherited cultural and spiritual ideas, particularly those surrounding visibility and guilt. In my paintings, figures often merge with plants, organic forms, and shifting landscapes, allowing the body to move beyond its physical boundaries while remaining connected to the environments, memories, and beliefs that shape it.
My work traces the tension between the desire for freedom and the forces that shape our perception of the self, turning accumulation, transformation, and embodied experience into a search for what lies beyond the individual.
